Back to School Lunch Ideas

August 17, 2020 by Amber Masters

It’s hard to believe that another school year is just around the corner. Getting back into the swing of things is tricky after weeks of freedom, but I always find that I’m ready for routine by the end of July. Part of that routine is getting back to packing lunches at night, so I’m not stressing in the morning! I’m always looking for new lunch ideas and thought it would be fun to share some of my favorites with you!

Cold veggie pizza is one of my favorite lunch foods! I love that I can make it once and eat it for an entire week! I love the combination of the ranch sauce and the vegetables. I also included trail mix, clementines, and an energy bar for after school. Can you tell that I love finger foods?!

I love that this lunch bag from PackIt is freezable! It flattens out and goes in the freezer overnight. In the morning, I pull it out and put my lunch inside!

The gel-lined walls keep my lunch cool for hours!

Next up, is tuna fish and more finger foods!

If I’m being completely honest, I could eat tuna fish every, single day. My mom says that it has too much mercury, (insert eye roll) so I try to limit myself to once or twice a week. I love these customizable bento containers because the dividers keep all the foods from touching. The snack container is perfect for separating my veggies and ranch dip!

Salads are another great option for a healthy lunch. I love that I can make the dressing, wash up some veggies/fruit, and have another meal that I can eat over multiple days.

The lunch bento is the perfect size for a salad and dressing. A salad is never quite enough to get me through the day, so hard boiled eggs and almonds are a must!

Another simple idea is a turkey wrap, chips and salsa, cheese, and fruit.

I love that I can fit a number of different food options into two containers! In the past, I used plastic baggies and would throw them away after each use. What a waste! These bento containers are eco-friendly and dishwasher safe!

Another easy lunch is a chicken salad wrap. To add a little variety, sometimes I change out the chicken salad for egg salad, tuna salad, or turkey salad!

I hope this post gave you some fresh new ideas for Back to School lunches! Tell us your favorite lunch ideas in the comments!

I am humbled and grateful to have had the opportun I am humbled and grateful to have had the opportunity to visit St. Jude Children’s Hospital campus this week for the second time. Each experience has brought a range of emotions, and a desire to do more.

Noticing families out and about on campus, and knowing they’re going through what no family should ever have to go through, is nothing short of gut wrenching. Yet, you also see strength, bravery, and perseverance, as children and families continue forward in their journeys.

There’s also an overwhelming sense of community, family, and hope. Hearing from former patients and their families, ignites a fire in you to spread awareness, and join the fight in ending childhood cancer. St. Jude promises not to stop until no child dies from cancer.

Each staff member I’ve encountered at St. Jude is invested in the mission, and is an incredible human being. I’m grateful for their passion to serve others, their wealth of knowledge, and their willingness to share the amazing work that’s being done at St. Jude.

Together, we will make a difference. ❤️ If you’d like to support St. Jude, but aren’t sure where to start or how to get involved, send me a DM and I can share some ideas!
