Lets Talk About Books 7/8/14

July 8, 2014 by Amber Masters

Hello! Once again I am linking up with Deanna Jump for her fabulous We Love Books linky! Every week I look forward to sharing one of my favorite children’s books, and I love learning about new titles from so many wonderful teachers!
The book I am sharing about today is one that I’ve shared with a different linky party before. However,I feel like I need to share it once more just in case you haven’t heard of it!

The story I am sharing today is…
http://www.amazon.com/Duck-Rabbit-Amy-Krouse-Rosenthal/dp/0811868656/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1404839557&sr=8-1&keywords=duck!+rabbit!
Seriously, if you do not have this book, order it right now. I mean look at the cover. Is it a duck or a rabbit? Ahhhh I still don’t know!!!

It really could be either. This story sets up a playful banter between two unseen characters. They debate whether the creature is a duck or a rabbit.

The story is a perfect addition for your reading/writing workshop mentor texts. I use the story to talk about perspective, opinion and persuasion.  You’ll be amazed at what even the littlest of minds can come up with and debate about. My class is always split about 50/50.

So what do you think?? Is it a duck? Or is it a rabbit?
I created some freebies to go with this story. Click on the image to take you to my TPT store to download. If you download it , please leave me some feedback.

We read stories, sang songs, played, learned routines, and most importantly, enjoyed being together. 🩷 I can’t wait to watch friendships blossom, confidence grow, and so much learning happen this year! 📚 ✨

Teachers love summer projects! ☀️🔨 This on Teachers love summer projects! ☀️🔨

This one, however, will for sure be running well into the school year. 😂🏡

After years of looking for land, designing our home, clearing the property, and then making more changes to the house plans (because apparently we weren’t done making decisions 😂), we’re excited to say… WE BROKE GROUND! 🚜🎉

We’re so excited for the journey ahead and plan to enjoy the ride! 🏡🤍✨

🔥✨ It’s been one week and I’m still smili 🔥✨ It’s been one week and I’m still smiling from my first-ever Campfire at FlyingHorseFarms!

Flying Horse Farms is this magical camp in Central Ohio, where kids with serious illnesses get to just be kids — to laugh, play, and make memories that heal in ways medicine can’t. 🏕️✨

Camp isn’t just a place — it’s a feeling. A reminder that when all kids get to be kids, the world shines a little brighter. 🩷

Seeing that magic up close reminded me how powerful community can be when we come together. 🫶🏻

But here’s the best part: camp is 100% free for every family — all thanks to incredible volunteers and donors who make the magic possible. 🙌

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to get involved… this is it. ✨
Join me and be a part of something truly amazing!

💚 Volunteer: Be the reason a camper smiles!

💚 Donate: Every dollar keeps campfires glowing and hearts healing.

Hi! 👋🏻 I’ve been super quiet on instagram Hi! 👋🏻 I’ve been super quiet on instagram over the past year, and it was for the best reason. We welcomed baby sister during the first week of summer and I’m officially a mom of 2! 💕I’m looking forward to getting back to sharing classroom ideas with you in August. Hope you all are having a relaxing and restful summer! ☀️
