Hi!!
Holy October!!
My goodness the month of October kicks my hiney each and every year. Parent-Teacher Conferences (for my 47 kinders!), Read-a-thon, Reading Improvement Plans…..and the list goes on and on! I’m sure many of you are feeling the same way. I am very much looking forward to things slowing down soon! I am excited to link up with Doddle Bugs Teaching for her Five for Friday Linky, as its been quite awhile since I last linked up!

As I mentioned earlier, during the month of October our school holds a Read-a-thon as our fall fundraiser! We have guest readers come in once a week for the month! Our superintendent made a visit to our room, as well as some of the local college football players! The kids were super excited to hear a story from these guests and learn about the ways that reading has impacted their lives! We are so grateful that they took time out of their days to come and read to us!
My little darlings are pushing along in reading groups!! They love getting a monster friend to help them remember to point to each word! 🙂
This group needs a lot of letter work! We are working on ordering our ABC’s. I started the kids with the first 4 letters and mixed them up. They had to put them in order using resources in the classroom . After completing the task, I added another letter, mixed them up, and the students had to do it again. Students had to check their work and make changes if they needed to. I offered different levels of support based on their needs. Such a simple task with lots of letter practice!
**This little one is checking her work and just realized that something is not quite right! 🙂
I am so excited to be a part of this amazing collaborative blog The Primary Pack! The teachers on here are superb and I feel so lucky that I can collaborate with them! My first solo post is coming up on the 27th! Let me tell you, these ladies have set the bar high! Hopefully I can keep up!
Have you checked it out yet?!
Our house remodel is coming along quite nicely! We go through spurts of working on it and then taking a week and a half break because we’re so busy. The flooring is done in all the main areas and just needs to go down in the bedrooms. I am loooving how the dark floors look! We are also making our big order of baseboard trim, casing, etc. so we can finish it all off! I still need to stain the top of my coffee table and add
a few more decorative elements but I’m loving how it’s all turning out! 🙂
Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a fabulous week!
