Hi there!
We are in our third week of school (second full week) and my kinders are finally starting to catch on! They know their morning routine which has made my life so much easier first thing. We’ve also started workstations and are still learning and practicing the expectations during station time. Like everyone else at the beginning of the year we’ve been spending a ton of time talking about listening. I LOVE the Howard B. Wigglebottom stories! We read Howard B. Wigglebottom Learns to Listen by Howard Binkow to start our discussion on listening.
The story is about a bunny named Howard that has trouble listening.
His friends and teacher try to tell Howard important things but he never seems to listen.
That is until his teacher puts him in time-out to think about his choices.
Howard reflects on his day and has a realization about listening!
AND he gets a gold star for becoming a great listener!!!
This website has all of the books in animated versions for your students and it reads it to them!! We watched in on the Smart Board! My kinders LOVED this! Plus there are some fun activities that you can use for extension activities! Click here to go to the website!
